This week was so evidently full of God’s goodness. It was such a sweet reminder of why God has me here.

Monday we had yet another Ask the Lord day! We got to go to the markets again and set off to evangelize. We ended up going into a store and having a man approach us, as many do here because we look so obviously different. He asked us where we were from, and why we were here. I love those questions because it’s such an easy step into telling people about Jesus and how he’s using us to reach their country. We asked him a bit about himself and it turned out he was a singer. He sang for us and we ended up buying some merch from him, so give Canny Deep a listen on all music platforms!! 😉 We ended up getting to pray for him, and it was so beautiful to see how encouraged he was by our prayer and just simply buying a shirt from him. It’s so easy to love people and do simple things to make people feel seen. And when they feel seen by our acts they can rest in knowing that it is only because God saw they needed that reassurance.

When we got home that afternoon we got a few surprises. Our host bought us pizza and donuts as a pre Valentine’s Day celebration. There was a beautiful rainbow while we did our laundry outside, and then we were surprised with getting to wash each other’s feet on the team. We randomly got paired up and just had the wonderful experience of humbling ourselves to serving one another. The even crazier realization was thinking that Jesus does that for each one of us. In your dirtiest, stinkiest moment Jesus gets on his knees and washes our feet till they are clean.

Tuesday was Valentine’s Day. The boys on our team made it such a special day of celebration for the girls. They really just continue to raise my standards in Godly men and persistent community. They made us pink pancakes for breakfast, wrote all 12 girls custom cards they had bought back in the states, and then took the girls off the cooking rotation and made dinner for us instead. For dessert they surprised us with a cake they had bought. It was such a reminder of God’s love for us and just how they could lead us into that love. I also got to open some Valentine’s Day cards that were sent with me from family, so that was super sweet.

Skipping ahead the Friday I got the opportunity to tell my testimony. On our squad two people give their testimony a week. I was the 4th person to give mine and I feel like I learned so much about myself. God has consistently presented significant change in my life teaching me adaptability and obedience. Through that I was seeing His plan had always been better than mine. Another thing I learned is that I went into this trip because I think God just wanted to surround me with a community that would pour into me and grow me so much, so that I could come home and pour into others. It was just such a beautiful realization of how sweet God is to have redeemed me of all my issues. My friends surrounded me in prayer and just got to pray for my friends at home, by name. Pray that I would be able to come back home and pour out to them.

It has been such a good few weeks here in Eswatini. We have one more week here, we’ll leave February 28th and have a 3 day debrief in Krueger where we will get to go on a safari! After the debrief is over we will fly to Jeffery’s bay, South Africa. Please pray for fruitful opportunities to be able to pour into others here. 2 months in Jeffery’s bay after that!
